丸小ビーズ
丸小ビーズは作りたいものによって色を決めましょう。
何色かセットになっているものを購入するのもおすすめですよ。
飾りビーズ
画像の様な飾りビーズはモチーフの中心にもなりますし、使い方は沢山あります。
こちらも種類は多いので、色々コレクションしたくなりますよ。

チャコペン
フェルトに下絵を描く時に使います。
鉛筆やマジックで下絵を描くとずっと消えないので、必ずチャコペンを使いましょう。
フェルト
ビーズを縫い付けるフェルトです。
今回はヘアアクセなのでそれ程量は要りません。
手芸屋さんで売っている20センチ角のもので十分ですよ。
フェルト用ハサミ
フェルト用とありますが、パッチワーク用のハサミを使っています。
できるだけ切れ味が鋭い物をチョイスしましょう。
文房具用のハサミだとフェルトが上手く切れません。
針
丸小ビーズの穴に通る様に細い針を使います。
あまり太い針だとビーズの穴に通りません。
ロックミシン糸
針に合わせて細いロックミシン糸を使います。
色は白がおすすめですよ。
合皮
裏地に使います。
針が通る厚さのものをチョイスしましょう。

フェルトに下絵を描く

なので、複数作る時は一気に下絵を描いても消えてしまう恐れがあるので、今作る物だけを描くのが良いですね。
動物の目や、飾りビーズを縫い付ける所は省略しても大丈夫です。
輪郭になる線は肝心なので、それが歪んでいると仕上がりも歪んでしまいますよ。
ビーズを縫い付ける
ビーズを縫い付ける時は、まず輪郭になる部分から縁取っていくようにしましょう。その後で内側を埋めるように縫い付けていきます。
注意点の方で詳しくご説明していますが、2個づつ縫い付けて最後に2度縫いする事が大事です。
目ボタンや飾りビーズを付ける時は丸小ビーズを全て縫い付けてからにするのが基本ですが、飾ボタンを先につけてその周りを丸小ビーズで埋めていくやり方もあります。
隙間ができない様に注意しながら行いましょう。
ギリギリでカットする
全てのビーズ刺繍を終えたらフェルトをカットしていきます。
どうしてフェルトに刺繍をするのかというと、フェルトは端処理の必要が無いからです。
コットンだと端処理をしなくてはならないので、難易度がグンと上がってしまいますよ。
できるだけフェルト部分を遺さない様に切りますが、最後に裏地の合皮と縫い付ける余白は開けておいた方が良いですね。
ボンドで仮止め
合皮を先ほどカットしたビーズ刺繍本体と同じ形にカットします。
写真の様にヘアピン部分を通す穴を切り込んだらヘアピンを通し、ボンドで固定します。
この時は中心部分にだけボンドを塗るようにしましょう。
フェルトと合皮は端処理要らずなので、このままボンドで貼り付けて仕上げても良いのですが、今回は端を縫い付けるのでボンドを塗り過ぎないようにしましょう。
合皮が手元にない場合は、フェルトで裏側を作っても良いですよ。
合皮生地と縫い付ける
ボンドが乾いたら裏側と本体をブランケットステッチで縫い付けます。
刺繍糸で縁かがりをすると、また違った風合いになりますよ。
縫い初めは裏側と本体の間から針を刺すと糸の結び目が目立ちませんよ。
完成
ブランケットステッチで端処理をしたので、裏側から見ても綺麗ですね。
ボンドだけで仕上げると側面が浮いているように見えるので、できるだけ縫い付けるのがおすすめです。
実際に見につけると光の反射でキラキラするので、ビーズとは思えないアクセントになりますよ。
ビーズ刺繍のヘアアクセを作るときの3つのコツ
フェルトは白がおすすめ
縫い付けるフェルトは白がおすすめです。
色が付いていると、せっかくのビーズの色味が分かりにくくなってしまいますよ。
特に半透明タイプのビーズでキラキラ感を出したい時は白が良いですね。
濃い色のビーズでレトロ感、アンティーク感を演出したいのであれば、あえて色の付いたフェルトを使うのも良いでしょう。
糸も白がおすすめです。ビーズの隙間から糸が見える事もあるので、そうなった時に濃い色が付いていると目立ってしまいますよ。
キラキラ感を出したいならば半透明ビーズ
ビーズ刺繍の魅力は何と言ってもキラキラ感です。
それには半透明のビーズを使うとより光が反射してきらめきが増しますよ。
また、パステルカラーやミルキーカラーのビーズを使うとゆめかわいい感じに仕上がります。もっとキラキラを出したいのならば、スパンコールを使うのもおすすめですね。
ボンドはあくまでも仮止め
合皮やアクセサリーパーツとビーズ刺繍部分を止めるのにボンドを使いますが、これだけで仕上げようとはしないでください。
周りは縫い付けるのが綺麗にきまりますよ。
しかしボンドを全く使わないのもやり難いので、中心に少しだけつけるようにしましょう。
ボンドは時間が経つと劣化するので、グルーガンを使っても良いでしょう。
ビーズ刺繍のヘアアクセを作るときの注意点
ビーズは2個づつ縫い付ける
作業をしていると一気にビーズを縫い付けたくなりますが、2個づつが基本です。
何個も一気に縫い付けると、フェルトからビーズが浮いたような仕上がりになってしまいます。
見た目以外の耐久性の面から見ても、2個づつ縫い付けた方が丈夫で綺麗に仕上がりますよ。
この事からも、ビーズ刺繍初心者の方は大きなモチーフよりも小さいサイズのモチーフして行くのがおすすめですね。
2度縫いは必須
ビーズ刺繍は1度縫いではビーズがきちんと揃わずすぐに取れてしまいそうに思ってしまう事でしょう。
1度ビーズを縫い付けたらその後でもう一度針を通しましょう。
こうする事でガチャガチャした見た目のビーズ面がピシッとまっすぐになります。見た目にもその変化は分かりますよ。
1段終えた時点でその都度2度縫いをして行きます。
フェルトをカットする時は慎重に
ビーズを刺繍し終えて裏側とくっつける時はフェルトをギリギリのところでカットしなくてはなりません。
できるだけフェルトが見えないようにした方が仕上がりは綺麗です。
ですが、あまりにもギリギリだとビーズを縫い付けてある糸を切ってしまう恐れがあります。
糸を切らない様にカットする時は慎重に行いましょう。カットする前にチャコペンで縁取り線を描いておくのも良い方法ですね。
おわりに
ビーズのアクセサリーは少し子どもっぽいイメージがありますが、ビーズ刺繍にすると高級感が感じられて大人が付けてもOKな仕上がりになります。
今回はヘアピンでしたが、ブローチやキーホルダー、バッグチャームなど色んなアクセサリーが作れますよ。
ピアスやイヤリングならばもっと小さいモチーフでも大丈夫です。
